Program Overview

The Flight Attendant Preparation Certificate prepares students for a career as a flight attendant by providing broad knowledge of the airline industry and specific skills required for the role. The comprehensive curriculum covers Canadian and international content, including aviation geography, airline industry structure, onboard safety and emergency procedures, and aviation security.

Students develop customer service excellence skills, learn in-flight service standards, cultural awareness, and airline regulations. The program also includes career preparation, including how to navigate the airline hiring process and develop targeted application materials.

This program is available in-class, via distance learning, or combined. It is instructor-led training with new cohorts starting every 1-2 weeks throughout the year.

Admission Requirements

Academic Eligibility

  • BC Secondary School Graduation Certificate (Dogwood Diploma) or equivalent
  • Mature student entry available (19+ years with relevant experience)
  • Alternative entrance assessment available for applicants without Grade 12
  • Post-secondary transcripts accepted where applicable

English Language Proficiency

  • English 12 (50% or higher) or equivalent
  • IELTS Academic 5.5 overall (no band below 5.0)
  • TOEFL iBT 46 or higher
  • Duolingo English Test 95 or higher
  • College English Assessment (available on request)

Technology Access

  • Personal laptop or desktop computer required
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection
  • Webcam and microphone for online sessions
